The village of Elloughton is located just off the A63 near Brough.

This is more of a gentle stroll of about 3km (2 miles) than a walk, but it takes you through some pretty countryside and you get some nice views along the way. The photographs below were taken in February 2007, so the trees are all looking a little bare, but it's still very picturesque.

Difficulty Easy. There's only one steepish hill. Distance Approximately 3km (2 miles) Refreshments The Half Moon pub in Elloughton

The walk starts at the junction of Elloughton Dale, Dale Road and High Road.

Image:elloughton1.jpg There are a couple of free parking spaces at the very start of the walk. The photograph shows the view of the village from here. The walk starts at a wooden signpost on the right, just before the road T-junction. Take the path up the gentle slope, past the house on your left and eventually along the edge of a field with a hedge on your right.

As you walk up the slope, you will get some nice views of the River Humber in the distance behind you. Keep going along the path until you reach a gate into the woods.

The top photograph shows you the view ahead and the bottom is the view behind. You can't see the river too clearly in this photograph, but it is there.
After going through the gate, go straight ahead until you come to a signpost, then turn left and follow the path down to the bottom of the hill. You will be walking near the edge of the woods, and you get more views of Brough and the River Humber on your left as you walk down.
Image:elloughton4.jpg At the bottom of the hill, you cross a road and continue through a gate just to your left.
Follow the path through the woods and then go up a reasonably steep hill on your left.
Image:elloughton5.jpg At the top of the hill, turn left at the T-junction and go through another gate a little further down the path on your right. Continue through a narrow strip of woodland. There are quite a few fallen trees here, which are quite good for sitting on if you're having a picnic.

When you leave the woodland, follow the path left down a gentle slope back into Elloughton. On the way down, you will pass a couple of ponds and then an old graveyard. When you reach the road at the bottom, turn right and follow the road for a short distance back to the start.
